Synopsis

During a routine visit to the dentist, Ned Dorneget gets a shock when he discovers a bug implanted in his tooth. The investigation leads the team to a businessman-turned-terrorist seeking revenge against the Navy for his son's death.

- The team discover that Dorneget was implanted with a high-tech listening device on the orders of Harper Dearing.
- Gibbs and Harper Dearing meet each other for the first time.
- It's revealed that Harper Dearing's reason for causing explosions on the ships is because his son, Evan died while serving on a Navy ship.
- The team discover that Dearing got the information concerning Project: Aquamarine from a microchip that he got from both Jonathan Cole and Sean Latham who auctioned off the microchips during Nature of the Beast (episode).
- The team soon discover that Dearing was on the Navy Yard, prompting a full-scale lock-down while they search for the terrorist.
- Gibbs discovers that Dearing has left a scale model of "The Kelly" in the bushes.
- In an attempt to capture Dearing, the team hold a small low-key Bachelor Party for Jimmy.
- It's revealed that a year has passed since the events in Nature of the Beast (episode).
- While the team aren't successful in capturing Dearing, they manage to arrest Vincent Maple, the President of Dearing's company who is revealed to have been embezzling funds.
- Gibbs soon discovers that Director Vance has gone missing, suggesting that Dearing might be responsible for Vance's abduction.
