The U.S.S. Philadelphia is an attack submarine associated with the United States Navy.

Season 1[]

Philadelphia was the primary setting of the Season 1 episode "Sub Rosa", in which a man disguised as a member of her crew attempted to introduce deadly sarin gas into the submarine's air conditioning system. NCIS Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs and Caitlin Todd were able to successfully foil the attempt to murder the boat's entire crew. As the man responsible had booby-trapped himself by swallowing frozen sarin gas, he was enclosed in a body bag along with all the sarin gas he had brought aboard and disposed of at sea via being loaded into one of Philadelphia's torpedo tubes.
