Sarah McGee is the sister of Tim McGee. Sarah is first mentioned in the Season 2 premiere episode, See No Evil (episode) as during the visit to a house of a girl who had been kidnapped, Tim made a reference to Sarah when he told Caitlin Todd to "remind me to introduce you to my little sister," after Kate made a comment about little girls not being slobs.
Sarah's first official appearance in the series occurred in the episode, Red Cell (episode) where she took over Tim's online role-playing game after he was called in to work. Her name was never mentioned onscreen and no clue to her identity was given at the time, leading to some speculation over who she was. (Tony once theorized that she was McGee's girlfriend but hoped he was wrong.) In this episode she was seen wearing an MIT sweatshirt.
The episode Twisted Sister (episode) centered on Sarah. Sarah was the prime suspect in the stabbing death of a naval officer. At the beginning of the episode, she appeared on Tim's doorstep, covered in blood and unable to remember the last several hours. The nature of her involvement in the sailor's death was difficult to ascertain because she had been drugged, and as a result of the temporary amnesia she suffered, she believed that she had killed him.
Tim conducted a preliminary investigation into Sarah's story without the knowledge of NCIS, and was eventually caught. The rest of the team then continued the investigation and exposed the sailor's real killer, one of the cheerleaders at Sarah's school. It was revealed that Sarah's only involvement with the sailor was when she pulled the knife out of him and attempted to save his life (which was how she got the sailor's blood on her), and the cheerleader had drugged Sarah in an attempt to frame her.
After being cleared of suspicion in the sailor's murder, Sarah resumed her regular life at school. She hasn't been seen since although she was mentioned in Child's Play (episode) as the person McGee would spend Thanksgiving with but he changed his plans to spend Thanksgiving with Ducky and the rest of the team.
She was mentioned in Squall, when McGee and his father were walking and discussing the cancer diagnosis. Admiral McGee reasurred McGee that he would call Sara to let her know.
