Synopsis

After months of working with the new SECNAV on a top-secret undercover assignment, Tony DiNozzo is left with an injured arm and no memory of what happened beforehand. In addition, DiNozzo has the blood of a fellow NCIS Special Agent on his hands. It now falls to Gibbs and the Major Case Response Team to piece together what really happened with help from Doctor Rachel Cranston.

Major Events

- It is revealed that Special Agent Simon Cade is the one Anthony DiNozzo is tasked with going after. In addition, it was revealed that Cade had in fact been framed with leaking the microchips.
- While in a stand-off, Cade and Special Agent Erica Jane Barrett are attacked by a mysterious figure.
- The gunfight ends with Barrett being hit in her stomach, DiNozzo hit in the shoulder and Cade dies instantly from his injuries.
- Stratton dumps Cade's body in the Potomac and attempts to frame DiNozzo for the crime.
- As a result of his gunshot wound, Tony suffers memory loss, forcing Gibbs to call in Rachel Cranston to help Tony deal with his psychological trauma.
- It is revealed that the technology that Agent Barrett took from Gayne Levin is a microchip that can unlock doors around the world and was given an order to sell it.
- Captain Felix Wright is revealed to be the one who Barrett was supposed to give the microchip to.
- The MCRT figure out DiNozzo's mission when the Autopsy cameras detect EJ Barrett taking the microchip off Levin's arm.
- Rule no. 36: "If you feel like you're being played, you probably are."
- It's revealed that Ziva's status as a Probationary Agent has ended and that she is now a fully-fledged Special Agent.
