Season Four of NCIS: Los Angeles aired at 9.00 P.M. EST in the United States, following episodes of NCIS.

The season premiered on September 25, 2012, and ended on May 14, 2013.

The episodes Red Part 1 (episode) and Red Part 2 (episode), were intended to be a backdoor pilot for a series titled NCIS: Red, but the project was ultimately passed over by CBS, leaving NCIS: Red the only backdoor episodes associated with the NCIS franchise to not be given a full series.

77 5 Out of the Past (episode) October 30 2012 Sam receives a voice mail from a former colleague but things take an intense turn when Sam and Callen arrive at the area, discovering that the man dead, having seemingly hung himself. Refusing to believe that the death is a suicide, Sam and the rest of the OSP team investigative and discover a possible threat to national security while Sam faces his past when a ruthless arms dealer arrives.
78 6 Rude Awakenings (episode) November 13 2012 In the aftermath of the previous episode, various teams composed of agents from different agencies all raid the homes of the sleepers agents, only to discover that all the sleeper agents are dead and that some of the nuclear bombs have gone missing, leading OSP into a frantic race against time before the bombs are sold to enemy countries while the truth about Sam's wife, Michelle Hanna is finally revealed.

86 14 Kill House (episode) February 5 2013 Callen, Kensi, Sam and Deeks go undercover as a elite tactical force to investigate an ambush that's apparently tied to a drug cartel kingpin who has terrorist connections but things take an intense turn when one of the rival training squad members turn up dead, his neck broken during a training exercise with the team soon facing a race against the clock when Nell who had gone in to investigate disappears, leading them to believe that she might have been taken hostage by the killer.
87 15 History (episode) February 19 2013 OSP investigate the death of a former member of a domestic terrorist group, the Gun Barrel Party, a group that in the 1970s was wanted for carrying out a string of bombings as well as domestic terrorism with the investigation growing intense when it's discovered that a supposedly dead member of the Gun Barrel Party may in fact still be alive and living under an alias in downtown Los Angeles.
88 16 Lokhay (episode) February 26 2013 Callen is left worried that Sam might be too emotionally involved in a case as Sam tackles a missing persons case to find the nephew of an Afghan elder who assisted Sam when he was wounded on a mission in Afghanistan but what should be a normal case soon turns deadly when the boat shed itself becomes an unlikely as the supposedly missing nephew and a terrorist on the NCIS Wanted List who wants Sam dead arrive to kill Sam with Callen, Kensi and Deeks being led into an intense gunfight with Sam's life on the line.
89 17 Wanted (episode) March 5 2013 Sam fears for the safety of his family after his wife is summoned to resume a former CIA cover after a case that the OSP team are currently investigating seems to suggest that it's connected to the infamous arms dealer Isaak Sidorov and the stolen nukes.
90 18 Red Part 1 (episode) March 19 2013 OSP investigate when a murder weapon used to kill an arms dealer in Los Angeles matches one used to kill a United States Marine in Idaho. As Callen and Sam head to Idaho to meet with NCIS Assistant Director Owne Granger and join the investigation led by the NCIS: Red Team, a group of agents who live and work together in two mobile units as they solve crimes in various locations in America and all over the world while Kensi and Deeks work the case from OSP Headquarters in Los Angeles with the team soon finding evidence suggesting that a terrorist attack that could take place, one similar to that of September 11.
91 19 Red Part 2 (episode) March 26 2013 OSP and the NCIS: Red Team head to El Centro, California to stop a terrorist hitman, only to discover that all is not what it seems while everyone suspects a romance is brewing between Callen and the Red Team leader, Paris Summerskill.
92 20 Purity (episode) April 9 2013 OSP investigate when two soldiers die from from cyanide poisoning after drinking water from the same jug with the team wondering if the incident was isolated or a test for something much more deadlier.
93 21 Resurrection (episode) April 23 2013 OSP investigate when a body is stolen from a morgue after a special task force successfully eliminated an infamous cartel boss. As Callen and Sam investigate the possibility of a leak originating from the DEA office, Kensi and Deeks attempt to recover the missing body.
94 22 Raven and The Swans (episode) April 30 2013 Callen and the team are tasked with finding a missing person who is in fact an undercover agent for NCIS, leading them to dig deep into Hetty's past with the team soon discovering that the agent was tasked with investigating stolen equipment being used to develop nuclear weapons.
95 23 Parley (episode) May 7 2013 Deeks goes undercover to get information concerning an infamous arms dealer looking back into the business after a lengthy absence but the woman Deeks is befriending threatens to jeopardize things while Kensi experiences new feelings as she keeps an eye on the two.
96 24 Descent (episode) May 14 2013 An explosion in the desert brings the search for the missing nuclear bombs to the top of OSP's list. To accommodate things, Hetty rearranges the partnerships, resulting in Callen and Kensi going to Iraq while Sam and Deeks stay in Los Angeles as they attempt to find the bombs before they're sold off but the appearance of an old enemy threatens the entire case with severe consequences for two personnel associated with OSP.
