Khalil Sa'id was an Egyptian-born Petty Officer Second Class who originally worked at Camp Delta before transferring to Gitmo and who was also fluent in Arabic, Uyghur and Pashto where he worked alongside Paula Cassidy.

He died on Route 522, nearly killing a biker couple in the process.

His remains eventually wound up in NCIS custody where Medical Examiner Donald Mallard and his assistant Gerald Jackson performed an autopsy on Sa'id's body and later discovered that the blockage inside Sa'id's stomach was not gallstones but actually emeralds which sent Agents Leroy Jethro Gibbs, Anthony DiNozzo and Caitlin Todd to Guantanamo Bay aka "Gitmo" in Cuba to investigate what had happened where they soon that discovered a detainee planned to kill another detainee who had connections to Osama Bin Laden and as such, were successful in plotting the attempted killing.
