Kensi Blye is an NCIS agent and a main character in the NCIS (series) spin-off series, NCIS: Los Angeles. She studied forensics and criminology in college, a skill that she often uses when investigating a crime with her colleagues.
She is also the daughter of a deceased Marine named Donald who was murdered when she was fifteen years old and the case was never solved or rather, it was simply swept under the carpet until it re-emerged in 2010 or 2011. Her father's body was so badly disfigured that investigators had to resort to using medical records to ID him.
It was later revealed in the Season 3 episode, "Blye, K" that Donald Blye had actually died in a drunk-driving accident and that the explosion had left his body so unrecognizable that medical records were needed to confirm his identity. The OSP team later determined that the death was actually murder and with the help of her colleagues, Kensi managed to solve the case once and for all.

Added by SocialOutsiderShe lives for the adrenaline rush of being undercover and also seems to have a penchant for causing harm to cars as seen in Legend Part 2 (episode) where she smashes the headlight of her car with a pole as she attempts to gain access to an auto shop that fellow Agent and colleague, G. Callen is in.
In "Identity", the first official NCIS Los Angeles episode, it was revealed that Kensi is able to speak Portuguese.
She can also lip-read, a trait she shares with Abigail Sciuto.

Added by SocialOutsiderDuring season one of the series Kensi was partnered with Agent Dominic Vail but the partnership was short-lived when Vail was kidnapped and held hostage for ransom. During the rescue attempt initiated by Agents Callen, Hanna, and Blye, Agent Vail was killed while shielding Agent Hanna from gunfire which left the team devastated.
Beginning in season two, Kensi has now been partnered with Detective Marty Deeks, the liaison between the OSP and LAPD.
However, in the Season 2 finale, "Familia", Kensi along with Callen, Sam Hanna and Deeks in tow resigned from NCIS to go find the previous Operations Manager, Hetty Lange who had mysteriously resigned from her position before disappearing altogether.
On the third episode of Season 3, she was briefly partnered with Callen by Acting Operations Manager Lauren Hunter in an attempt to unbalance the team long enough for her to disappear. Hetty returned at the end of the episode and restored her partnership with Deeks.
Kensi also made a guest appearance in the Hawaii Five-0 Season 2 episode "Ka Hakaka Maikai".
