Jason Edom was a man who worked in the local general store, Jackrabbit Slims near Shenandoah National Park. He was also a Anti-Semitic as he reacted rather negatively to Ziva David's Star of David necklace, realizing sh was a Jew. He told her that he didn't date her kind, causing Ziva to remark, "What is your type, Mr Edom? Breathing". She later remarked that Edom made her skin crawl.

Eventually, Edom's fingerprints were found on bear-baiting equipment in the park and he was brought into NCIS for questioning. Leroy Jethro Gibbs first interviewed him and then Ziva interviewed him. During the interview, she asked him about his daughter and her dance recital. He told her her name, Sarah. She told him the name Sarah was a Hebrew name, meaning "princess." After seeing a photo of the missing girl, Edom who was innocent of killing Petty Officer Benjamin Reilly told her that it was Wesley Rowan but it was later revealed that someone else was the murderer, not Wesley as the team had previously thought.
