	The team are on protection detail for an important member of the Navy who is trying to leave a building. Whilst making sure everything is secure McGee goes to the exit and sees a man arguing with someone in a car. He identifies himself and the man turns to him. McGee sees what he thinks is a gun and hears a shot fired and shot the man dead. When the team get to him he is crouching next to the dead man's body and the car has driven off. An investigation is started and the team find no gun and no bullet that the dead man had supposedly shot at McGee. Then they find out that he was an off duty cop and Metro Police come in to talk and they want to interrogate McGee. Gibbs won't allow it. The investigation continues and the Metro Police also starts an investigation. Gibbs questions Jenny's ability of being a director, and she defends her position yet again. The next day McGee goes to the Police station to be questioned and while there he confesses that there was no gun in the man's hands. Gibbs convinces Metro Police to let him keep McGee at NCIS. Gibbs tells McGee that he had let him down and that it was his fault. Tony and Ziva go back to the alley and find the bullet. They also find links to a Drug Lord. This leads them to the dead man's partner and McGee and Gibbs go to talk to him. The partner punches Gibbs and takes his gun out. McGee hesitates and Gibbs shoots the partner. Amy Bright is brought in for questioning and gives up that she discovered her husband was a killer and killed him to protect her family. == Summary ==
Gibbs is forced to come back out of his retirement to help Fornell, who is being threatened by a convict that escaped from prison. The convict threatens both Fornell and his daughter Emily. Gibbs and the NCIS team re-open the convict's old robbery case, and question a retired sailor who is the only one who contacted the convict after he was sent to prison. The investigation will lead the NCIS team to a surprising discovery.

== Plot ==
Opening scene sees FBI Agent Tobias Fornell, in suit and tie, sitting in a children's beauty parlor reading a magazine, whilst around him the salon is busy and buzzing with little girls attending the "My First Makeover" grand opening, a girl group blaring on the sound system, everything vivid and colorful and cheerful. Fornell looks across the room at his own daughter who is waiting her turn and busy with a coloring in book. His pink and white blond daughter, about 8 years old, smiles back. We see a man's hand pass a crayon to Fornell's daughter and Fornell stands, calling his daughter to him. She is unperturbed and merely says its not her turn yet. The men speak and we learn that this is an escaped convict whom Gibbs and Fornell put in jail for life. The convict tells Fornell to re-open the case because the wrong man was convicted. The convict knows that Fornell can either pursue him or reach for his cell phone, and that Fornell will not endanger his own child by pursuing the convict and leaving her behind for any accomplice. Convict leaves. The closing snapshot is of Fornell standing in the salon, looking worried, putting his cell phone to his ear. Opening credits. We see a 3 store wooden house with picket fence and a for-sale sign. Cut to interior shot in Gibbs' basement. Gibbs is taking boxes from shelves and emptying them into a trash can. In the process, a metallic box falls to the floor, catching his attention. It is a child's lunch pail. He picks it up and sits, opening it and smiling as he takes out an absurd, cheery little 'strawberry shortcake' doll with a mob cap. But beneath the doll he finds some photos and, with an audible intake of breath which he releases as a sigh, Gibbs starts looking at the photos of his daughter (whom we know was murdered alongside his wife just before he joined NCIS 15 years ago). But before he can finish looking at the photos, Gibbs' real estate agent can be heard upstairs, getting closer, describing the potential of the basement as a wine cellar to a potential buyer, who turns out to be Fornell. The realtor leaves Fornell to have a look. Fornell enters, explains the situation with the convict to Gibbs and Gibbs preempts him by saying he is retired and that Fornell doesn't need him. Fornell erupts, saying it goes beyond need. A convicted murderer touched his child. It is no longer Fornell the FBI agent but Fornell the father. Fornell forces himself calm, remarks ''Nice tan'' to Gibbs and departs. At the NCIS headquarters, we have Ziva and Agent Lee reassuring McGee that his over bleached teeth are not as bad as he thinks, but that he should not let DiNozzo see them. DiNozzo arrives and wants to see them. In the midst of a standoff between a close-mouthed McGee and a demanding DiNozzo, Gibbs arrives and, without greeting, storms upstairs to Director Shephard's office. The Director is on the phone, but politely tells Todd that she will call him back (and we presume Todd is the same Dr Todd Gelfand who treated Gibbs in the Hiatus episodes, and that this indicates some romance between the Director and the Doctor). Gibbs demands to be allowed to handle the Paulsen (escaped convict) case. Jenny demurs on grounds that he cannot treat working for NCIS like gym membership to be dropped and restarted at will. She says she filed his retirement package. Gibbs says ''Un-file it.'' They bicker until, as Gibbs is heading out the door in disgust, Jenny offers to sign Gibbs' parking voucher and, on opening her desk drawer, feigns surprise that she finds Gibbs' retirement paperwork. She tells him that she must have accidentally put him down for annual leave instead and that he is still an NCIS agent for the next 6 days until leave runs out. We see DiNozzo speaking into his speaker phone saying ''Don't tell me you don't eavesdrop, Cynthia. Every Director's assistant eavesdrops..'' until Ziva hisses that Gibbs is coming. Gibbs marches back down the staircase into the squad room, saying nothing. DiNozzo, Ziva and McGee huddle to discuss whether Gibbs has forgotten he retired but note that he has not taken back his old desk. He has gone to a chair at the very end of the row. Gibbs in the squad room speaks to Fornell by phone, telling him that he should have been here half an hour ago. We see Fornell outside his mother's house, telling Gibbs that he is dropping off his daughter as a form of protective custody. We hear his daughter bright and happy as she greets her grandparents. Gibbs asks whether he wants an agent there and Fornell indicates his anxiety by asking ''How many can you spare?'' In a series of quick cuts, we follow Gibbs' conversation where Fornell is worried about Paulsen and what he is after, and DiNozzo is worried about Gibbs and what is happening. Jenny swings past saying that Agent Gibbs is back on temporary assignment to help with the Paulsen case. DiNozzo is tells the others what that case is. Fornell tells Gibbs that all the files on Paulsen are being sent to NCIS so that NCIS can try to spot something that the FBI techs might have missed. In Abby's lab, we see Abby sitting at her bench surrounded by computer screens with Gibbs' face as her screensaver. She is sucking on a skull lollipop, concentrating on something she was reading from the Paulsen file boxes. A voice asks ''Anything good?'' and she absentmindedly describes how interesting the case is until she realizes that it's Gibbs' voice and he is here beside her. She excitedly greets him, stabbing at each computer to take his photo off as she doesn't need it now that he is back. He explains that it is temporary. She is unimpressed and her excitement deflates. Gibbs tells Abby to process the contents of Paulsen's cell, to find out what he was up to before he escaped, but then looks up at the CCTV camera and says ''unless the three of you have any other suggestions?'' and DiNozzo has to answer, caught red-handed, saying ''We were eavesdropping like little girls but we do have some ideas...''. They report that the only person visiting Paulsen in jail was his friend Mickey. Gibbs tells them to get on with seeing Mickey, but tells McGee to ''..stay here and help Abby...'' at the same time DiNozzo says the same thing (so who is the boss, now?). Gibbs also picks up the Caf-Pow cola and tells McGee to drink some ''...before we all go snow-blind'' showing that he still observes everything. The team rushes off to interview Mickey. Arriving at Mickey's, the team is told that Paulsen had been waiting for them for an hour. Team rushes in to arrest him but cannot find him. Gibbs gets a phone call from Paulsen saying he already has what he wants and that he is surprised to catch Gibbs as he heard that Gibbs had quit. Gibbs says ''retired'' but Paulsen laughs and says at Gibbs' age, it's quitting. DiNozzo asks what did Paulsen want? Gibbs looks out the front of the house and says ''Our car''. which is now gone. They then interview Mickey. Fornell arrives (and is told to take off his shoes in house-proud Mickey's house). Mickey tells Gibbs and Fornell that they got the wrong guy. Gibbs and Fornell tell Mickey that he wasted his life's savings defending the wrong guy. DiNozzo suggests using Mickey as bait for Paulsen. Both Fornell and Gibbs turn and stare at DiNozzo and Gibbs says ''You're the boss.'' Phone call to DiNozzo - the car is found (the laptop with the case files is the only thing missing). They then ask if Mickey had any weapons and they find his pistol is missing from its case. They conclude that Paulsen is now armed. Agent Lee is helping Abby in the lab. Lee, the lawyer, notes that Paulsen filed more appeals than she has ever seen and that Paulsen is probably going after witnesses in the case. Lee thinks letting convicted felons use the legal system that way is an abuse of process. Abby says that we are all entitled to our day in court. Lee says ''Not according to Agent Gibbs. I've been going over his case files and he seems to prefer a more biblical approach to things. If you ask me, the Agency's better off without him. ''Abby slams down files and tells Lee that the Agency is lucky to have Gibbs and reminds Lee that she can kill without leaving any evidence behind. She finished by saying ''Done, settled, Gibbs is staying. He has to, right Gibbs?'' alerting Lee that Gibbs has arrived silently. Gibbs just stares at them, coffee in one hand, Caf-Pow in the other, silent and sombre. Abby, reading this as dissent about staying, grumpily turns back to her computers and restores Gibbs' photos as if he is already gone. They discuss the evidence that Lee and Abby have been sorting and note that Nash is the only accomplice that Paulsen didn't kill. They discuss what Paulsen is looking for and wonder about looking for the bank robbery money and Gibbs says ''...or maybe Paulsen is looking for something a little more...biblical.'' Agent Lee, who is at least 12 inches(32cm)shorter than Gibbs, looks up into Gibbs face as he glares down at her. She realizes that he heard everything negative thing she said about him. She looks horrified and scared. New scene, we see DiNozzo hiding near the staircase listening to his mobile phone, and he is hearing the conversation that is going on between Ziva and McGee. Gibbs walks up behind him and asks ''Taking a little break, DiNozzo?'' Tony says ''Oh I think you know exactly what I am doing, Agent Gibbs.'' They then walk into the squad room, where Ziva and McGee rush to hide their own gossiping about McGee's over-bright teeth (he is on his fourth Caf-Pow to diminish the shine but Ziva suggests he changes to blueberry as it's not working). They were also complaining about being tired of Tony's campfire team meetings. As Tony and Gibbs walk in, asking for a report, Tony finishes off their first sentence and Gibbs finishes off their second sentence. Tony is impressed at Gibbs' prescience and says ''I have much to learn, master.'' as he switches off the speaker-phone button on his desk, cutting off the call to his own mobile phone. Tony holds a campfire (team discussion around his desk) and they all work out that they have to track down Nash, the accomplice to Paulsen. Next scene is Ducky and Palmer in autopsy, sitting and examing for Ducky's viva exam for his Master's degree in Forensic Psychology. Palmer asks what is the difference between the ethical and the moral man. Ducky replies with a twinkle in his eye ''Well, the ethical man knows that it is wrong to cheat on his wife whereas the moral man actually would not.'' Gibbs arrives and asks ''Going back to school?''. Ducky becomes brusque and explains about the forensic qualification to add the "why" answers to his arsenal of forensic "how" answers because ''...What motivates us can be a very tricky thing.'' Ducky says he was wondering when Gibbs would finally come and visit him. Gibbs says he has been busy but Ducky pins him down by saying ''..or avoiding me? I wonder why that could be?'' Gibbs says he is not staying. Ducky answers that he never thought Gibbs would. ''I am aware that when Leroy Jethro Gibbs makes up his mind, his mind's made up.'' Gibbs (and the viewer) is in no doubt that the reunion and friendship is strained. Gibbs then discusses the Paulsen case with Ducky and Ducky asks whether Gibbs has one of his famous gut feelings. Gibbs already had that when he decided the man was guilty the first time around. Ducky, noting that Gibbs never changes his mind, points out that that is too bad for Paulsen if Paulsen is innocent. Gibbs takes Ducky's snarky comments silently but with a grim stillness. His phone rings. DiNozzo reports that they have had a call on the FBI public tip hotline, from Paulsen. He plays the recording to Gibbs over the phone. Paulsen thanks Gibbs for the car and says he left his own token of appreciation, which he is sure Gibbs will find soon. McGee traced the phone call to a place in the city and Gibbs correctly preempts McGee by saying 4242 Adams Boulevard, where two of the accomplices were murdered in the past. (Viewers can ponder whether an in-joke is intended in the address because Douglas Adams wrote the "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," where the answer to everything is 42). Fornell meets Gibbs at the address. Lee points out that they have no warrant yet. They are wondering what is Paulsen's token of appreciation. They storm the apartment and find photographs from when it was a crime scene previously and Ziva remarks that it shows the discrepancies in the evidence. Ziva says that their job is not to reopen Paulsen's case but Gibbs and Fornell point out that Paulsen has done that by making the old crime scene part of the new crime of escape. Paulsen is clever. Gibbs brings in Paulsen's elderly, flirty friend Mickey to work with Abby to process the old files as they are running out of time. Abby collects Mickey from the squad room. Mickey admires Abby's outfit and says ''My dog had a collar just like that...'' Gibbs walks back towards the squad room which is having a campfire discussion at Tony's desk, with Tony recording it on his dictaphone as usual.Tony invites Gibbs to join the team. He keeps walking and leaves. Team DiNozzo ponder where he is going. Tony predicts his basement to drink bourbon with Fornell. Jenny says not tonight. Gibbs' house has termites, is being sprayed and that Gibbs is staying with Fornell. Fornell's house. Fornell is showing Gibbs into a little girl's bedroom, remarking that Emily was excited about Gibbs staying and that he use her room and is allowed to sleep with her Raspberry Rumtart doll (which gives Gibbs flashbacks to his own daughter and her strawberry shortcake doll). They have a discussion about Gibbs having had a family and sharing Fornell's situation. Fornell says ''hell, I was even married to your second wife!'' to which Gibbs gave his usual reply of having warned Fornell. They discuss that they screwed up on Paulsen and that they can make it right. They drink Emily's fruit juice which Fornell notes is ''Not our usual stuff'' Fornell says that as a kid, all he dreamed of doing was being an FBI agent. Now not a day goes by I don't think about being a kid. ''The way I figure it, anyone who doesn't want to quit this job isn't doing it right'' Next day in Abby's lab, Abby puts a henna tattoo on Michelle's arm and wants to photograph it. Michelle stands stiffly but Abby wants natural movement. Mickey starts dancing with Michelle and it gets out of hand. Abby keeps taking photos. Gibbs walks in. Lee bashes into him whilst dancing. She is horrified. She splutters an explanation. Abby explains that she is checking whether Paulsen's tattoo was copied in order to frame him: it was the only identifying mark that labeled him as the murderer. But they need Paulsen to let them photograph the real tattoo to be able to compare it. They have tracked down who did the tattoo on Paulsen, though. Gibbs leaves, still having said nothing to Agent lee. Lee is awed by just how much Gibbs hates her and says so to Abby. DiNozzo goes to interview the tattoo artist who is working as a signboard man on the pavement, twilling an advertising sign continuously during the conversation. Ziva and Gibbs watch from the car, with Ziva dropping hints about how easy it is to get bored without an interesting occupation. Gibbs preempts the discussion and asserts that he is not staying. DiNozzo gives up interviewing, gets back to the car and waits for the tattoo man to phone Nash, the surviving accomplice. They track the call destination and race to the location. They find Nash dead on the ground, having fallen from the top floor. Too late, yet again. In autopsy, Ducky says Nash was beaten before being shot and then he fell. Abby comes on the video phone to say that the bullets are same gun as before. It looks like it was Paulsen and that Gibbs' new gut instinct (that Paulsen is innocent) is wrong. Tony says we are missing something. Gibbs sourly remarks that the only thing he is missing is happy hour in the cantina in Mexico. He stalks out of autopsy. Gibbs enters the lift to leave the building, looking severe. He puts his hands behind his head and stares at the ceiling, then hits the emergency stop. In the darkened lift, he looks down. Makes a decision. Hits the lift button and reverses the lift to go down to Abby's lab. As he walks in, we hear we hear her instructing the security men not to let Gibbs leave the building, but as Gibbs arrives, she mutters that it's a false alarm and slams down the phone. She embraces Gibbs excitedly, talking fast, saying she was worried that he was a flight risk and we see that her hug was really a means to handcuff him to herself. When he tells her that she has to clear Paulsen, she embraces him (causing pain as the handcuff forces his arm behind his head as she puts her arms around his neck to hug him). Gibbs' question for Abby is how does Paulsen know everything the team knows, as soon as they know it? In the squad room, team Tony are discussing the case and Tony is sour. Ziva asks is anything wrong, and Tony lists everything concluding with how Paulsen seems to know everything they think or say as soon as they say it. Gibbs marches in and asks if Tony is only just now realizing that. He grabs Tony's dictaphone on which he records all campfire discussions, breaks it open to show a bug, planted when Paulsen stole the car and left everything behind but the laptop. They have found the token of appreciation that Paulsen mentioned when he left a message on the tip line. In the lab, Abby shows that the bug has the maker's signature. They pull in the bug maker to interrogation, wanting him to hand over the cipher. With Ziva, the angry man refuses to co-operate, asserting all his legal rights. So Gibbs goes in. DiNozzo in the observation room, finally twiggs that this is like The Fugitive film, and Gibbs is Tommy Lee Jones (Ziva whispers to McGee ''What happened? We have been avoiding mentioning the Fugitive for days'' and McGee murmurs back ''He figured it out for himself.'') In the interrogation room, the man is still defiant so Gibbs pauses,leans forward and says, softly and un-threateningly. ''I got this little girl. Wants to go home to her dad. And thats not gonna happen without your help. (Pause.) So....please?'' In the observation room, the Gibblets look shocked and amazed at Gibbs saying please. The defiant man shifts in his chair, deflates his antagonism and asks what Gibbs wanted to know. Cut to team outside a house at night, in flak jackets. They are monitoring what's going on inside. Ziva says ''I heard Paulsen's voice'' and they see a gun and Mickey's profile. They storm into Mickey's house, yelling at Paulsen to hold it as Paulsen points a gun at Gibbs. DiNozzo tells Paulsen not to do it as we will shoot you. Gibbs explains that they know Paulsen is innocent and tells the others to put down their guns, then lowers his own and says that Mickey, however, is not innocent and DiNozzo starts arresting Mickey. Ziva explains that the guy who sold the bug pointed out Mickey as the buyer, not Paulsen - much to the team's surprise. Mickey scoffs and says if he did it, where is the money? McGee says it has been right here all the time. The furniture in Mickey's house is not just old, it is valuable antique furniture. McGee gives the prices for civil war era furniture, a longcase clock and a first edition of Huckleberry Finn. Paulsen raises his gun at Mickey but Gibbs talks him out of it, predicting that Paulsen would rather see Mickey sent to jail. As Mickey is led away, Ziva raises her eyebrows at McGee who confesses that he watches the Antiques Roadshow. In Gibbs' cleared-out basement (which only has the boat left but no tools), we see Gibbs sitting doing nothing, in the dim yellow light of a lamp. Jenny arrives to announce that Paulsen is cleared of all charges. Jenny: You saved that boy's life. Gibbs: He did most of the work. J: Don't sell yourself short. Or is it too late for that? G: (wryly) This supposed to be some sort of pep talk to get me to stay, Jen? J: (silently snorts). G: (with dawning realization) You don't want me back! J: No I don't. G: (sneers) Afraid you wont be able to handle me, Dir-rect-tor? J: (quietly serious) No Jethro, I am afraid you won't be able to handle yourself. You have already been in two comas - you might not come out of a third. But the fact is you're good. The best. When you're as good at something as you are and you can make a difference, you just don't quit. (Jenny turns and walks out leaving Gibbs sitting with nothing to do but think about her words.)Next day, Team Tony are arriving at work, exiting the lift together, with Ziva saying to McGee that he used to be a nice person. Z: I think sitting at Tony's desk has affected your personality. T: for the better! He picked up a girlfriend all by himself. Z: Yeah, at a funeral! T: You didn't tell me that. M: Well, you were right - because when women are vulnerable, get right in there... His speech dwindles to a halt as the team stops and stares into the squad room. Gibbs is at his old desk, still wearing a mustache but with his beard shaved off. The camera pans around the desks. Each agent's belongings have been packed and dumped on their old desks. Then we see Agent Lee, at the far end, standing holding her possessions, clearly evicted from the team space and with nowhere to go and looking shell-shocked. The looks on the team's faces are consternation, except for McGee whose super-white, super-broad grin becomes the end snapshot.

-	In Washington, Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs gets a called from Agent Anthony Dinozzo and is informed that Air Force One has landed in Wichita, KS due to a naval commander dying on board. At the airport, Special Agent Gibbs and Agent Dinozzo meet up with Dr. Donald "Ducky" Mallard and they head down to Wichita. When they arrive on site, Dr. Mallard pretends to be the local medical examiner and Gibbs and Dinozzo pretend to be his assistants. They even used the local coroner to help them with their set up. They were able to fool the FBI and other agents, except Agent Kate Todd, who discovers that they are not only pretending to be the local Medical Examiner; they are there to take over the investigation. They offer to take her aboard and help solve the case. Through much hesitation, Agent Katie Todd agrees to work with them. On their way to Andrews, Ducky discovered that the time of death of the deceased is nearly an hour earlier than what the President's physician has claimed it to be. A little later, Ducky discovers why the time of death between him and the President's physician was different. Being that Commander Trapp had lunch with the President, the President's physician probably rushed to evaluate the President's condition. He did call Trapp's time of death. Once he was sure that the President wasn't in any medical danger, he returned and was gone for nearly an hour. After solving that mystery, Gibbs, Agent Todd and Agent Dinozzo, start bagging the food from the President's lunch. While bagging the evidence, Agent Todd throws up, which makes them question if she has what killed Trapp. At a President's conference, Agent Baer and FBI Agent Fornell have a phone conversation about NCIS having control of the investigation. Agent Baer sticks to their side, even though it's in the hands of a retired cop and ex ME's. Agent Baer informs FBI Agent Fornell that he will have Agent Todd turn the body over to the FBI when she and the NCIS agents land in Andrews. Back on Air Force One, Kate tells Dr. Mallard and Agent Gibbs that she has a stomach virus due to the fact that she slept with Major Kerry who had the same symptoms. After interviewing the staff who were held on board, Agent Dinozzo discovers that the food is very secured but the ribs that were served was flown in from San Antonio and the only person who had ribs was the President. Meanwhile, Agent Todd gets hounded by Agent Baer to turn the body over to FBI when she lands, she tries to get him to see on their point of view but it doesn't work. Agent Todd informs Special Agent Gibbs what she has been ordered to do and that she won't disobey a direct order. Gibbs tells her he understands and they land in Andrews. Agent Dinozzo, Special Agent Gibbs, and Dr. Mallard have taken Trapp's body to NCIS. At a medical lab, Dr. Mallard is examining Trapp's body and Forensics Specialist Abby Sciuto is examining his clothes. Dinozzo goes to Abby and discovers that Trapp might have been poisoned from his own health food. When presenting for Agent Todd, FBI Agent Fornell, Gibbs and Dinozzo about how Trapp died, Dr. Mallard informs them that Trapp suffered a cerebral embolism and had a number of clots that are not unusual to find after suffering from that kind of stroke. Abby tells them that the food Trapp had was free of poison and with that, it's concluded to be a natural death. Now that the case has been solved, Special Agent Gibbs asks Kate if he could join her on the President's flight; she agrees. At a private luncheon, Kate ends her discreet relationship with Major Tim Kerry. After she drives off, Major Kerry suffers the same stroke as Commander Trapp and dies in his car. On Air Force One, while a group of reporters are waiting to interview the President, Agent Kate Todd confesses to Special Agent Gibbs that she ended her relationship with Major Tim Kerry. Later, Agent Dinozzo is called into the crime scene involving Major Kerry; meanwhile, after hours of searching, Abby finally finds something that may have been a cause in Trapp's death. Back on Air Force One, Agent Dinozzo calls Gibbs to inform him about Major Kerry. Also on the line, Dr. Mallard tells them that Major Kerry had multiple cerebral embolisms because he had a bigger dose of what killed him & Trapp. Abby comes on the line and tells them it was venom from an Australian snake. The venom was injected in the suit and it eventually got into the skin. Major Kerry was the intended target and being that he was sick he wasn't on command until the next day, so he didn't wear his suit until then. She also discovers both Kerry's and Trapp's suits were taken to a certain Dry Cleaners. They believe that this is a classic Al Qaida case and with that solved, Mark gives it to the FBI to handle. So, Gibbs gets Todd in a bathroom stall and tells her what happened, but accuses her of killing Kerry being that she was the only one seen with him at the time. After her reaction, Gibbs tells her he was testing her. He tells her what really happened and Todd confesses that Kerry knew Trapp and must have suggested the Dry Cleaners to him. Gibbs comes to the conclusion that the terrorists are after the President and in their own way, were able to get the President to board the plane they are on now. In the back of the plane, a reporter starts to seize and now is when the story starts to unravel. Special Agent Gibbs figures out what their plan has been and stops a reporter from killing the President just in time. To gain back favor in the eyes of his masters, he planned to bring down Jonathan Siravo, a known crime lord, and seize all his money for the Agency. He killed two of Siravo's men and made it look like a battle for control between them. He called Gibbs and asked him to help him, calling up the favor. Gibbs and his team agreed, despite their hostility towards Kort. Kort later double-crossed them and used the CIA's authority to seize Siravo's three-hundred million dollars. He was wounded in the shoulder by the true mastermind behind Siravo's organization but was saved by Gibbs. He left NCIS by saying that he had a debt towards Gibbs. DiNozzo used the situation to deliberately sabotage the interview, it is unknown whether DiNozzo ever forwarded her file onto Agent Gibbs or whether or not Gibbs was made aware of DiNozzo's sabotage because, after the incident nothing more concerning the interview process was said.
